Breitling Chronomat 44 Frecce Tricolori Watch

Limited Edition Breitling Chronomat 44 Frecce Tricolori Watch

Breitling is famous for their aviation watches, the company has produced numerous aviation themed watches over the years and even their logo has wings, called the “winged B”.  So it makes sense for air forces to team up with Breitling to create purpose-built watches for their pilots.

In 1983 Breitling teamed up with Frecce Tricolori (Tricolor Arrows), the Italian air force acrobat team, and created the now famous Chronomat watch.  Almost 30 years later, the watchmaker has produced a limited edition of that watch called the Breitling Chronomat 44 Frecce Tricolori, limited to 1,000 pieces.

The Breitling Chronomat 44 Frecce Tricolori Watch is pretty much a standard Chronomat 44 chronograph with logos from the Italian air force acrobatic team.  The three arrows, in Italian flag colors, are placed at the top of the dial with the words “P.A.N. Frecce Tricolori”, which stands for Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale, below it.

This special edition watch comes in a 44 mm brushed stainless steel case with a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screw-down crown and pushers, and black rubber straps with “Breitling” stamped on them.  The dial features the standard three chronograph sub-dials, thick hour markers and hands, a date window at the 5 o’clock position, and is covered with AR coated sapphire crystal.

The watch is powered by in-house Breitling Caliber 01 chronograph movement with 70 hour power reserve and is water resistant to 500 meters.  The limited edition Breitling Chronomat 44 Frecce Tricolori Watches are priced at $9,400.
